Prescriptions

Non-urgent advice: Notice

If you have a prescription query, please either contact us online via PATCHS, or ring the surgery after 11 am, when the phone lines are generally quieter.

Repeat Prescriptions

The doctor may agree for you to have repeat prescriptions for long-term medication. Requests can be made by calling in at the surgery or posting your request (enclosing a stamped, addressed envelope, if you would like the prescription to be returned by post).

Alternatively you can now order prescriptions online.

You can register for this service by calling into reception with two forms of identification.

If you have difficulty obtaining your repeat prescription, for instance you may be housebound, please speak to our prescription clerks on 01274 957846.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Pharmacy

There are several pharmacies in the nearby vicinity. We suggest you nominate a pharmacy and get your prescription sent there electronically.

See below:

Electronic Prescription Service

We offer the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from.

Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated, this means:

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
  • You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.
